Danish Cord Weaving with Brett Dunkerley

Join us in crafting your own woven cord stool! Danish paper cord has been used for decades by modern furniture makers in Europe due to its durability and visual appeal.

Each week in this course we’ll take you through how to shape wood with hand tools, apply a finish, glue up the frame, and finally complete the weave.

All materials are provided along with tea and coffee during breaks. No experience necessary. Ages 18+ welcome!

  • Soon after moving to Nelson in 2017, Brett joined the 2 week woodworking beginners course at the Centre for Fine Woodworking. And was hooked!

    The following year he signed up for the 9 month furniture makers programme which taught traditional techniques for designing and making fine furniture.

    Now residing in Wellington, Brett works on bespoke commissions and restorations.
